What factors will influence transportation costs in 2024?
Basically, the following three factors will influence our transport calculation in the coming year:
2. congestion surcharge
3. German toll
Swiss domestic tariff:
The HVF increase planned by the Swiss Confederation has now been postponed until 01.01.2025. However, ASTAG has decided to adjust the applicable domestic tariff (GU tariff) by 1.5% on a linear basis.
Congestion surcharge:
In 2022, congestion hours on the national road network increased by about 23% compared to the previous year. As you know, congestion hours lead to significant productivity losses. For this reason, we expect the congestion surcharge to be adjusted by 1 – 2 percentage points.
German toll:

Unfortunately, at this point in time, we cannot rule out the possibility that other factors will influence the transport cost situation in 2024.
Currently, we are talking almost exclusively about fiscal measures in the above-mentioned areas, which we must implement as a freight forwarding service provider.
